General Objective of the Job
The Regional Emergency Response Manager (RERM) plays a pivotal role in strengthening War Child’s emergency response capacity and enhancing the organization’s agility and impact in humanitarian crises. Reporting to the Global Humanitarian Lead and to the Regional Director to ensure coordination with Country and Regional Leadership, the RERM will lead emergency preparedness, response efforts, and response capacity building to support children and communities most acutely affected by conflict.
This role will ensure that War Child Teams can respond swiftly and effectively to emerging crises, both within and outside Countries of WCA presence. In collaboration with the Regional Strategic Partnerships Manager the incumbent will also develop and maintain strategic partnerships with a focus on major Humanitarian Emergency actors, and contribute to building operational resilience within country teams and partner organizations in Africa and Colombia.. The RERM will serve as a deployable resource to lead or support the initial phases of emergency responses, especially in contexts of no WCA presence and provide technical support to local teams and partners for ongoing responses.

What you will do:
- Conflict Analysis in the region, and advice to the RD and Regional leadership team on Preparedness, and Early Action
- Building and maintaining relationships with major Humanitarian Emergency actors and identifying opportunities for collaboration and joint responses in collaboration with the Regional Strategic Partnerships Manager.
- Emergency response Capacity Building and Technical Support to WCA Teams and partners in Countries of presence and to Partners in contexts of no WCA Presence as appropriate.
- Timely Deployment and Emergency Response Leadership to new emergencies and in Africa and Colombia.
