Project Officer

Your mission
  1.  Project Planning
  • Prepare the work plan and time schedules for implementing the project activities
  • Support the identification and planning of technical skills and requirements to implement the project as per relevant standards
  1. Program Implementation and follow up:
  • Coordinate and implement day to day activities with stakeholders in field ensuring that technical quality and standards are considered and respected during project implementation
  • Ensure activities are on time, target and budget, using effective M&E systems to reach desired impacts
  • Conduct regular field visits to engage directly with participants and partners, assess project effectiveness, and recommend timely adjustments.
  • Identify challenges and trouble-shoot any unforeseen challenges during the project implementation
  • Provide regular and timely updates on progress and challenges to relevant stakeholders
  1. Documenting and Compliance
  • Keep record of all  activities documents
  • Maintain project databases and ensure the data is protected from misuse in line with WC’s data protection policy
  • Ensure staff awareness of, and respect of, WC’s code of conduct, Integrity and Safeguarding Policy as well as procedures and donor requirements
  • Prepare insightful, context-specific reports highlighting both progress and operational challenges, proposing realistic solutions
  • Facilitate and document lessons learned and best practices and share them with relevant teams so they can be reflected in project planning and decision making
  1. External Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Undertake communication and liaison activities to actively consult and involve participants, key informants, actors, partners and stakeholders in all stages of project design and implementation
  • Cultivate good relations with key humanitarian actors – local and international, including government authorities, through regular attendance at technical meetings and bilateral meetings
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate and coordinate efforts with other organizations to ensure our activities build upon - rather than replicate - the work of others
  • Provide support to partners in project implementation and ensure timely and qualitative implementation of projects by partners
  • Participate in review meetings with partners, with particular attention given to the relationship aspects of partnership collaboration
  1. Logistics
  • Contribute to the development of procurement plans
  • Ensure a proper management and use of the project assets
  1. Finance
  • Forecast monthly requirements and track project budget
  • Ensure budget alignment with donor and WCA Requirements
  • Track Project expenditures and ensure aligning with approved budget
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, donor guidelines and internal controls
  • Prepare and submit Expense Vouchers  to the finance department. 
  • Ensure that all supporting documents are in place before submission. 
  • Track submitted vouchers and payments to ensure timely processing. 
  • Work with implementing partners to ensure timely financial reporting and compliance.
  • Review partner financial reports and support reconciliation with project budgets. 
  • Assist in contract and payment processing for vendors and consultants.
Your profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related fields
  • Minimum of 3 years working directly with humanitarian programming, preferably within complex emergency contexts
  • Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility
  • Personal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork and healthy work environment, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well
What we offer
  • Location : This role is to be based in one of the following War Child country office: Lebanon. 
  • Applicants must be able to travel between Beirut and Tripoli Offices. 
  • War Child does not offer relocation.
  • Salary and benefits are in line with your residing country and contracting office, we offer local packages, local T&C's will apply.
