Your mission
Title:  Communication Volunteer  (1 vacancy)          
Base: Lebanon              
Working area: War Child Beirut office with occasional travel to Tripoli and other locations where War Child works
Modality: Hybrid. At least 2 days office in-person; open to remote arrangement if it works for both parties.

Proposed starting date: immediate for an initial 3 months renewable based on needs, funds and performance
Reason for hiring:
Support is needed in the communications department in tasks including but not limited to research, social media management, media strategy, production, and coordination management for shoots and events, digital filing as well as everything related to design for the JEDI (Justice Equity, Diversity and Inclusion) Working Group.
Type of contract: VOLUNTEER AGREEMENT
Application guidelines: Due to the emergency context and the need for immediate recruitment to meet operational needs of the emergency response, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Interviews may take place before the application deadline, and the position may be filled as soon as suitable candidates are identified.

Overview:
We are looking for a Communication Volunteer at War Child Lebanon, Beirut (Hybrid) to support the communications department in daily tasks.
 
Key Responsibilities:
•             Desk Research
•             In-person research and data collection (interviews, focus group discussions, phone interviews, etc)
•             Identification of communications and social media trends
•             Identification of success stories to be written and/or filmed
•             Design of communications materials (design skills are a must)
•             Coordination support for shoots with the production house (videography and still photography)
•             Content creation
•             Support in other similar tasks as needed
•             This position requires travel to accompany the communications team on shoots and various field assignments.
Your profile
Required Qualifications:
  • Recently (in the past 5 years) completed a degree in Media, Journalism, Education or Social Sciences, Liberal Arts or related field
  • Design skills are mandatory (Canva, CapCut, InDesign, and Photoshop)
  • Proven experience in writing in both Arabic & English
  • Proven experience in content creation (static and video content)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Familiarity with OneDrive and Google Drive
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team
