Title:  External Therapists / Mental Health Providers (1-3 consultants TBD)

Proposed starting date: Immediate start for a duration of up to 3 months renewable based on needs, budget, and performance

Reason for hiring:
War Child Lebanon is operating under ongoing emergency conditions. To strengthen our duty of care and ensure staff wellbeing during this prolonged crisis, War Child Lebanon intends to contract qualified external mental health professionals to provide a range of psychosocial support services for staff.

Type of contract: Consultancy Agreement

Application guidelines:
Due to the emergency context and the need for immediate recruitment to meet immediate needs following the emergency response, applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Interviews may take place before the application deadline, and the position may be filled as soon as suitable candidates are identified. If a group of therapists wish to apply jointly, they may submit one consolidated proposal. Additional details for supporting documents are found below.
 

Objective of the Assignment:
To deliver confidential, accessible, and culturally appropriate mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) services to War Child Lebanon staff during the emergency, through a flexible set of interventions staff can choose from based on their needs.
 
Scope of Work:
The contracted therapist(s) will provide 3–4 types of support services, including:
 
A.           Individual Therapy Sessions:
•             One to one confidential psychotherapy sessions (online or in person).
•             Short term or ongoing support depending on need.
 
B.           Group Therapy or Group Support Circles:
•             Small group sessions (6–10 staff) facilitated by a licensed therapist.
•             Focus on stress management, coping during conflict, emotional regulation, peer support, and other themes identified.
                
C.           Psychoeducation & Skills Building Workshops:
Short workshops (60–90 minutes) on themes such as:
•             Managing stress during war/emergencies
•             Burnout prevention
•             Grounding techniques & emotional first aid
•             Trauma and coping skills
 
Delivered online or in-person depending on safety conditions.
 
While the above outlines the expected services, War Child may consider additional or alternative session types proposed by the consultant, subject to relevance and approval.
 
Contracting Arrangements
War Child reserves the right to request as the number of sessions as needed, depending on staff demand and operational priorities during the emergency. There will be no pre set number of sessions agreed in advance. War Child and the provider will agree on the session rates and a general overview of the service options, and all release orders and payments will be issued based on actual sessions requested and delivered.
Your profile
Required Qualifications:

Therapists must meet the following minimum criteria:
•             Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Social Work (MHPSS focus), or related field.
•             Valid license to practice psychotherapy in Lebanon.
•             Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably including work in emergency, conflict, or trauma contexts.
•             Experience providing online therapy and group facilitation.
•             Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics.
•             Previous experience with NGOs, humanitarian settings, or employee wellbeing programs is a plus.
•             Ability to provide services in Arabic (mandatory) and English (preferred).

How to Apply

In addition to a CV, applicants must submit the following documents:
 
1.           Technical Proposal: brief methodology approach to therapy, modalities offered, experience with emergency contexts, list of services, and availability.
2.           Financial Proposal; Session fees (individual and group). The fee should include all operational cost, no additional cost will be applicable.
3.           Copy of Highest Degree Certificate
4.           Professional References: At least one reference from previous engagements.
5.           Copy of Ministry of Finance registration (تسجيل مهنة حرة)
6.           ID or Passport Copy
 
If a group of therapists wish to apply jointly, they may submit one consolidated proposal with each of the therapist information. The group may designate one focal point for coordination with HR for scheduling, reporting, and contracting.
