Your mission

War Child is looking for a:
Intern Institutional Funding (Dutch Relief Alliance/DRA account)
 Period (in consultation): between 1 September 2026 and 19 February 2027 for a minimum of 5 months (4 days per week). 

About the role

War Child Netherlands is a compact, driven team of more than 50 professionals responsible for a large part of War Child’s income and reputation in the Netherlands and across the 18 countries where we work. We focus on practical, cost‑effective humanitarian work that improves the future for children affected by conflict. 
As an intern in this role,you will support the Institutional Funding team. You will be based at our Amsterdam office (Watergraafsmeer) and work in a hybrid way — a mix of working from home and on site. 

Your challenge
You are enthusiastic about War Child’s work and want to help improve the future prospects of many children worldwide. We are looking for an intern to support the Dutch Relief Alliance (DRA) account. The DRA is a network of 14 humanitarian NGOs, funded by the Dutch Government, that delivers humanitarian aid where needs are highest. You will work closely with two account managers and support ongoing programme development with country teams, including DR Congo, Syria and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Deliverable
A well‑organised DRA account that frees the account managers to focus on strategic planning and ensures the PCJR selection and implementation processes are completed thoroughly and to a high standard.

What you will do

  • Provide general DRA account management support: introduce structure and standardisation through trackers (reporting, IAAs, DCR, payments), annual action plans, checklists, meeting scheduling, minute taking and action follow up.
  • Support preparation, review and filing of Inter Agency Agreements (IAAs), Grant Agreements and Sub Grant Agreements.
  • Support Rafiki data quality checks for DRA reporting.
  • Maintain and close project documentation and folders; ensure accurate filing.
  • Ensure quarterly meetings take place; collect and file required information; set agendas.
  • Support specific Joint Responses (JRs) as needed: Syria JR, Gaza JR, Ukraine JR and other unforeseen tasks.
  • Support EWWG activities and ACM launches.
  • Help prepare materials for Partners Meetings.
  • Assist with proposal development for new PCJRs.
  • Support internal training activities and draft internal memos.
  • Help with report reviewing and quality checks.
  • If time allows, broaden the portfolio to support other accounts.

Your profile

  • Registered as a student at a Dutch educational institution for the full internship period.
  • Background in social or development studies (or a related field).
  • Experience with NGOs and/or humanitarian contexts is an advantage.
  • Proactive, eager to learn and able to take initiative.
  • Strong organisational skills, accuracy and comfort with administrative tasks.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (fluency required).
  • Available for a minimum of 5 months, 4 days per week.
