Your mission

War Child Alliance is a child-focused international non-governmental organisation dedicated to supporting children and young people affected by armed conflict. We work to ensure that children can access protection, education and psychosocial support in safe, inclusive and nurturing environments, and that their rights and voices are respected in all decisions that affect them.
 
In Syria, War Child works through country offices and local partner organisations to deliver integrated child protection, education and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) programming for conflict-affected children, adolescents, caregivers and communities. Our teams operate in a highly complex and fluid context across different parts of the country, balancing the imperative to reach those most in need with our duty of care toward staff and partners and our commitment to principled, needs-based humanitarian action.

About the role

The Admin Assistant will report to HR/Admin Coordinator. The role holder provides support as needed to ensure administrative tasks are completed effectively, conducts regular follow-up on the Damascus premises, and ensures maintenance activities are carried out and supplies are available.

What you will do

  • Assist in maintaining office/GH premises and report maintenance issues for follow-up.
  • Monitor and refill office supplies and consumables as needed.
  • Scanning, filing, document management, and archiving.
  • Support logistics and coordination of office workshops and meetings.
  • Coordinate with service providers and maintenance contractors when required.
  • Support staff with administrative requests and day-to-day operational needs.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the line manager.

Your profile

  • Secondary School certificate (Mandatory) , Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in this field.
  • Honesty and reliability
  • Quick and efficient, with an eye for detail.
  • Quick learner.
