Strengthens War Child's visibility, engagement, and influence through strategic social media growth.

War Child Alliance Foundation works to protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children affected by conflict. As a global alliance supporting national War Child organisations and programmes, the Foundation engages with donors, corporate partners, policymakers, humanitarian practitioners, funders, advocates and donors. Social media is a critical communication tool for strengthening organisational visibility, thought leadership, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.

What you will do

Purpose of the Consultancy

Assess the current effectiveness of War Child Alliance Foundation's LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube presence and develop actionable recommendations to increase audience reach, engagement, influence and alignment with organisational objectives and communications strategy.

Objectives

Conduct a comprehensive review of the Foundation's social media, including an assessment of our current LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube profile and activity.
Benchmark performance against relevant peer organisations, NGOs and sector leaders, with particular attention to professional and institutional audiences.
Assess audience growth, engagement, content effectiveness, brand positioning and tone of voice.
Identify opportunities to expand reach among priority audiences.
Develop a clear social media strategy for 2027 aligned with War Child Alliance Foundations strategy and our communications approach.
Produce practical recommendations and implementation tools.
Build internal capability through knowledge transfer and guidance.

Scope of Work

Discovery and assessment; benchmarking; strategy development; and implementation support including content planning, editorial approaches, KPIs, governance recommendations, executive visibility, employee advocacy and growth tactics.

Timeframe

Approximately 6-8 weeks from contract signature – project must be finished in 2026.

Required Qualifications and Experience

demonstrated experience developing social strategies

experience with LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube
experience working with NGOs/humanitarian/international organisations
analytics/data interpretation
stakeholder/audience strategy
experience turning strategy into practical editorial systems
understanding of B2B/institutional audiences where relevant

Interested consultants should submit a detailed financial proposal, daily rates, estimated level of effort, and VAT status where applicable.

Reporting and Management

The consultant will report to the Head of Communications, War Child Alliance Foundation.

Evaluation Criteria

Understanding of assignment (20%), methodology (25%), relevant experience (35%) and value for money (20%).

Expected Outcome

A clear, evidence-based social media strategy and implementation roadmap that strengthens visibility, expands engagement, enhances thought leadership and supports organisational objectives.
