Institutional Funding Strategic Partnerships Account Manager (Maternity Cover)

Your mission
As the Institutional Funding & Strategic Partnerships Account Manager, you will play a key role in securing institutional funding for the War Child Alliance, supporting the organisation’s financial sustainability and enabling positive outcomes for children affected by conflict. Reporting to the IFSP Senior Team Lead, you will build and manage strong relationships with bilateral and multilateral donors, grow income from existing and new funding markets, and support high-quality grant cycle management. Working closely with colleagues across the Institutional Funding & Grants Delivery team, fundraising members, and country, regional, and global teams, you will bring strong initiative, strategic thinking, and analytical problem-solving skills, with a direct impact on organisational performance, partnerships, and reputation.

What you will do:
  • Manage the institutional funding accounts, including tracking opportunities, maintaining donor data, grants data, and contribute to account management strategies and departmental processes.
  • Assist with donor prospecting and relationship management by researching institutional donors, preparing and updating donor profiles and briefing notes, and support engagement with key stakeholders and partners.
  • Contribute to market research and analysis to identify new donor opportunities, monitor sector trends, and support the diversification of institutional funding.
  • Provide research, coordination, and logistical support for strategic partnerships, including preparing background information, supporting meetings, and maintaining partnership records.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team culture, uphold safeguarding standards, and support team priorities and organisational objectives.

Your profile
Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in administrative support, program coordination, or research within an NGO, development, or humanitarian setting.
  • Experience with donor engagement, fundraising, and grant management in development and humanitarian sector.
Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of international aid and institutional donor environment, with experience working with the EU, multilateral system (UN organizations) and donor governments.
  • Knowledge of project management and organizational tools.
Skills:
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English, with proficiency in French or another relevant language as a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems such as Salesforce.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international development, business administration, or public policy
What we offer
  • Location : We work with global teams with team members being based in different locations. War Child is currently operates in: Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Colombia, DR Congo, Germany, Jordan, Lebanon, the occupied Palestinian territory, South Sudan, Sweden, Syria, Uganda, Ukraine (soon to be registered), and Yemen. We also have offices in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Preference is given to applicants who reside and have valid working permits. War Child does not offer relocation.
  • Type of Contract : Local contract with salary and secondary labour conditions based on the in-country salary scale, local T&C's will apply.
  • Contract Length : 9 months - Maternity Cover.
  • Preferable start date :  9th March 2026.
